Supporting Our Community

How We Work to End Hunger Together

What is food insecurity? As both a child and adult, I did not know what food insecurity was, nor had I experienced it in my lifetime. Yet thousands of members of our community suffer from food insecurity. Food insecurity, as defined by FeedingAmerica.org, is when people don't have enough to eat and don't know where their next meal will come from. FeedingAmerica.org partners with the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Metrolina to bring hunger relief to thousands of local residents right here in our own backyards.

Caring Transitions of Fort Mill, SC has partnered with the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Metrolina to support food banks throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. Not only does the food bank help cure food insecurity, they also support local pantries like the Fort Mill Care Center, who provide food, utilities, and prescriptions to residents of Fort Mill and Tega Cay, SC.
